Frequently Asked Questions

What does acupuncture treat?

Acupuncture treats a wide variety of health conditions. Insomnia, digestive issues, headaches (including migraines), pain (shoulder, back, etc.), infertility, anxiety and fatigue can all be addressed with acupuncture. In addition, acupuncture can be beneficial for smoking cessation, weight loss, and skin lift and tightening (acupuncture face lift). Whatever your concern, we are here to help you find your aah... Bliss.

Why combine acupuncture with aesthetics?

Most of us want to look and feel our best. Combining these two modalities heals and brightens from both the inside and the outside. Our skin is our largest organ. Regular skin maintenance will reduce breakouts and increase cellular turnover resulting in clearer more youthful skin. Facial and scalp massage will send you into a deeply relaxed state engaging the parasympathetic nervous system where all healing takes place. The combination of acupuncture and facial massage will most likely move your body into this healing mode much faster and deeper than either alone. In addition, the facial massage will promote lymphatic drainage. Unlike our circulatory system, our lymph system has no pump to move the lymph. Exercise and massage are the best two activities to move the lymph which rids the body of toxins and can reduce fluid retention.

Does acupuncture hurt?

In general, acupuncture is almost painless. Acupuncture needles are very thin. It would take approximately 16 needles to equal the thickness of a pin. If you have any concerns about the experience of acupuncture we are happy to begin very slowly with few needles to allow your body to acclimate to this powerful healing modality.

Do you re-use needles?

No. Each sterile needle is brand new in factory packaging before being opened for your personal session. Needles are one-time use and disposed of in a medical sharps container after removal from the body.

How quickly will I find relief?

Acupuncture is not typically a quick fix. It's best to consider how long you have been suffering in order to be realistic regarding recovery. In general five sessions will give us a good idea as to your body's response to acupuncture. Most clients experience some relief within five sessions with more complete

relief within ten to twenty sessions.
